What is DesiFest2012
A festival that brings together the beautiful and vibrant cultures of India and Pakistan while supporting a message of peace and unity between 3 countries - US, India and Pakistan. a single day festival with food from various Indian and Pakistani restaurants; clothing and jewelery from multiple boutiques; rides and games for kids; Fashion Shows to showcase the beautiful traditional outfits from various designers; Free prizes, giveaways; and a live concert from Bollywood (India) and Lollywood (Pakistan) celebrities and local talents; Display of the largest hand-painted mural at a phenomenal 8ft by 45ft featuring 3 leaders who have encouraged Peace within India, Pakistan and the US.

This opportunity allows visitors to experience the distinct cultures of both India and Pakistan. With focus on various attires, food, jewelery and entertainment, the festival will appeal to both South Asian as well as main stream Americans alike and build a deeper understanding of what the 2 vibrant countries have to offer.
What is the Hand-painted Mural?
At a phenomenal 8ft x 45 ft, a hand-painted mural will feature Mahatma Gandhi, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Martin Luther King Jr. Each a pride of his country and each a preacher of peace and unity who's ideologies are followed around the world.
The idea conceived by the founder of DesiFest will be painted on canvas by the famous artist Aejaz Saiyed from India. To be first unveiled in India for the Limca Book of World Records, it will be flown to Pakistan to be displayed as a symbol of peace and unity and then unveiled in IL at DesiFest2012 to be held at the Boomers Baseball stadium in Schaumburg and supported by Comcast and Mayor of Schaumburg, Al Larson.
